Former Chief of Israeli Regime Staff: Netanyahu Is Leading Israel Toward Collapse
According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency via Anadolu Agency, Gadi Eizenkot, former Chief of Staff of the Israeli army, wrote in a Facebook post: More than 680 days after the start of the war against Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israel has not achieved any of its goals, and its soldiers continue to be killed in Hamas tunnels.
He emphasized that Netanyahu is devoid of leadership and responsibility and avoids making tough decisions. He prioritizes his personal and political interests over national welfare, steering Israel toward a risky brink.
Eizenkot also urged Israelis to participate in today’s widespread strike on Sunday.
He added: “I call on all who believe in Jewish and Israeli moral values to join the protest by families of prisoners and raise their voices; time is slipping away.”
According to Channel 13 in Israel, families of prisoners plan a nationwide day of protest Sunday-including car marches, rallies, and demonstrations at Prisoners’ Square in Tel Aviv as well as other cities across occupied territories.
Hundreds of local institutions, organizations, and companies have allowed their employees to take part in these protests.
The West Bank’s Birzeit University also announced participation in the strike.Opposition leader Yair Lapid called on government supporters to join these protests too, stressing ”this issue does not concern only the opposition.”
families of prisoners and opposition groups accuse Netanyahu’s government of sabotaging prisoner exchange negotiations with Hamas for political reasons aimed at preserving its coalition.
Tel Aviv estimates about 50 israeli captives are held in Gaza-20 confirmed alive. Meanwhile, more than 10,800 Palestinians remain imprisoned by Israel. Human rights reports document torture, starvation measures, denial of medical care for many detainees-and some have died inside prisons.
Despite U.S. support for Israel since October 7th last year, the regime has committed large-scale crimes across Gaza-massacres; starvation policies; widespread destruction; forced displacement-ignoring international demands including rulings from the International Court of Justice calling for an end to these actions.
The official death toll from this socalled genocide stands at least 61,897 Palestinians killed, with another 155,660 injured.
The ongoing atrocity has also left over 9 thousand missing persons; hundreds thousands displaced; famine claiming lives including those of 251 people among them 108 children from Gaza.
