Zelensky Visits “Maktab” Before Meeting Trump; Starmer Takes on Coach Role!
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RT, NBC News reported that UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer offered advice to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ahead of his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump on how to conduct himself and avoid reigniting tensions.
Zelensky traveled to Washington for talks with Trump and key European backers of Kyiv. Their meeting at the White House last night followed a tense, brief encounter in February between zelensky, Trump, and Trump’s deputy chief of staff, Judd deere. That earlier meeting ended contentiously and temporarily led Washington to suspend military and intelligence assistance to Kyiv.
NBC described Starmer as a central figure among European officials who acted like a “coach,” guiding Zelensky on interacting with Trump. The British Prime Minister reportedly advised Zelensky to thank Trump for military aid and diplomatic support during their discussions.Additionally, he suggested Zelensky wear a blazer instead of his usual military-style T-shirt for the meeting.
The telegraph also reported that British ministers had instructed Zelensky on how to “speak with Trump,” recommending flattery toward the American president.
During their contentious February encounter, trump accused Zelensky of “gambling with World War II,” while Judd Deere claimed Zelensky was ungrateful for U.S. assistance.
Tensions between Trump and Zelensky had arisen repeatedly before-highlighted by Trump’s refusal to blame Russia for the Ukraine war and calling Zelensky a “dictator” over election delays under martial law measures.
