Vitkoff: Gaza Meeting to Be Held at White House on Wednesday
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, Steve Wittkoff, special envoy for U.S. President Donald Trump in West Asia, stated that a meeting on Gaza will be held at the White House on Wednesday, chaired by Trump. The meeting will review a complete plan for Gaza after the war ends.
He added that the official stance of the Trump management rejects any partial agreement and demands the immediate return of all Israeli prisoners.
Wittkoff said,”An agreement must be reached and Israeli prisoners must return home. Hamas should have no role in any future government in Gaza. These are conditions set by both Israelis and President Trump.”
The envoy acknowledged that civilian casualties are tragic but characterized them as part of the context of war.
President trump will lead this significant session on Gaza at the White house on Wednesday.
When asked who poses the greatest obstacle to ending the war in Gaza,Wittkoff claimed that Hamas is blocking peace efforts.
He further alleged that a deal has been available for six or seven weeks but Hamas has been stalling negotiations.
Responding to whether he believes Hamas should be eliminated, Wittkoff stated this is not his decision and emphasized reaching an agreement remains essential.
The envoy said Hamas has now implicitly indicated willingness to agree to terms, while Israel is also prepared to continue talks with hamas.
“We believe,” Wittkoff concluded, “that regardless of how it progresses, the situation in Gaza will definitely be resolved before this year ends.”
