Vitkov: Putin-Zelensky Meeting Likely
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, Steve Witkoff, former US President Donald Trump’s special envoy to West Asia, indicated that a bilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr zelensky, presidents of Russia and Ukraine respectively, is probable.
Witkoff told Fox News, “I think it’s very likely this will lead to a bilateral meeting.”
He added, “My personal view is that the presence of (Donald Trump) as president will be necessary to finalize the deal at the negotiating table.”
On August 22, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that no meeting has been scheduled between putin and Zelensky. He added that Putin is ready for such a summit if a specific agenda is provided.
