Irish Comedian: The Sustainability Fleet Has a Moral Duty to Defend Palestine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Facts center, Irish comedian and activist Tad Hickey, a member of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, described the initiative to break Gaza’s blockade as not an adventurous trip but a moral obligation.
He emphasized, “In my life, I have never seen such a stunning group of people; they all share one mind and one goal and are devoted individuals.”
Hickey acknowledged the serious possibility of being detained by Israeli authorities and said he might be cut off from all communication for several days or more. He added, “If Western governments were not so cowardly and complicit in Israel’s genocide in Gaza, we would not be in these circumstances today.”
He accused Israel of skillfully branding ordinary innocent people as “terrorists” and stressed: “This flotilla will not be the last group. Whatever happens to us on this journey is certain: activists will not stop, and their movement will only grow.”
