Putin Invites Zelensky to Moscow Talks with “100 Percent Security Guarantee

Putin announced that Moscow is ready to host peace ‍talks with Ukraine and⁢ guarantees full security for Ukrainian delegations in⁤ the city.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Izvestia via ⁣Mehr News Agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged Ukraine’s‍ legitimate right and choice to seek membership in the⁣ European Union.

Putin stated that Moscow is prepared to host peace‌ negotiations with ukraine and assured complete security for Ukrainian delegations visiting Moscow. He ‍emphasized that Moscow is the best ⁢location for the highest-level Russia-Ukraine meetings.

“The Ukrainian ⁣side has expressed interest in ⁤this meeting and proposed it. I am ready. Please come; we will‍ definitely provide conditions suitable for work and ⁢guarantee security. Be 100 percent sure,” Putin said.

He added that requesting such talks to be ⁢held in a neutral third country imposes significant demands.

The⁣ Russian president also pledged ⁤respect for any security guarantees established for ⁤both Russia and ⁢Ukraine.

A day after Western allies of‌ Kyiv pledged military presence ‌should a peace agreement⁢ be reached with Russia, Putin warned that any Western⁣ forces deployed on Ukrainian soil would become legitimate targets for⁤ the Russian military.

“If any force appears there, especially during conflicts, we will operate‍ under the assumption they are legitimate targets,” he stressed.

Putin underlined that “every country has the right to choose its own security arrangements, but such⁤ choices must not ‌come at another country’s expense.”

He reiterated Russia’s firm opposition to ukraine joining NATO. According to him, ‌constitutional law in Ukraine requires territorial agreements be approved by referendum-but first martial law must be lifted in the country.

Putin remarked, “today’s world is deeply interconnected through technological advances, making isolation behind a so-called ‘national‌ shell’⁤ neither‌ beneficial nor viable as it weakens competitiveness. Russia welcomes interaction with all countries-especially friends and those willing to cooperate with ⁤us. We do not isolate ourselves nor avoid anyone.”

The Russian leader spoke at the eastern Economic forum ⁢in Vladivostok where he also noted an agreement with former U.S.President Donald Trump to communicate “if⁢ necessary.”

“I have an open dialog ⁤with ⁢Trump,” ⁢he said.”He knows I welcome such conversations-and I know he welcomes them as well.”

Referring to a ⁤recent meeting of⁤ what he called the “Enthusiasts’ Alliance” in Europe, Putin added: “But based on ‍these consultations there has been no ⁣dialogue with Trump yet.”
