Hamas Issues Statement on 70th Day of Gaza War
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas confirmed in a statement that the devastating conflict imposed by the israeli regime on Gaza has reached its 700th day.This war, marked by clear genocidal intent and targeting of defenseless civilians, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and disappearances, most of whom are women and children.
The statement adds that during this period, the Israeli army intensified air and ground assaults, destroying cities and vital infrastructures across Gaza. Hospitals, schools, bakeries, relief centers, and refugee camps have been targeted. Thousands of medical personnel, aid workers, journalists, and humanitarian staff who are protected under international law have been deliberately killed.
Hamas stressed that this ruthless war is not only an explicit case of genocide and ethnic cleansing but also a blatant threat to global society-undermining all international laws and values. The Netanyahu cabinet brazenly revealed plans for destroying communities and forcibly displacing Palestinians while continuing a blockade that causes collective starvation and total deprivation of fundamental needs.
The movement highlighted America’s role in politically and militarily supporting Israel while blocking effective measures from international bodies. The silence and inaction of the UN Security Council and other UN organs have facilitated the continuation of this humanitarian catastrophe.
Hamas stated: “While we showed flexibility toward achieving an agreement to halt hostilities and exchange prisoners,” Netanyahu deliberately obstructs mediators’ efforts to prolong a never-ending war aimed at realizing fascist government objectives-even at the cost of Israeli captives’ lives in Gaza.
The movement again called on the international community-including Arab and Islamic countries-and especially the UN Security Council to assume their historic obligation toward the Palestinian people by compelling the occupying regime to instantly cease its crimes.
it asserted: “Condemnation statements alone are insufficient; it is time for concrete action with effective sanctions. Without imposing heavy costs, Israel will persist in its crimes without restraint.”
Praising popular uprisings worldwide and welcoming the global “Flotilla of Steadfastness” effort to break Gaza’s siege,Hamas urged Arab nations,Muslim countries, and free peoples everywhere to expand protests across streets and public squares so global solidarity can halt Israel’s war machine and break this cruel blockade.
