Lebanon’s Jaafari Mufti: Resistance Is a Historic Shield for the Country
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Lebanon’s Al-Manar website, Ahmad Qablan, the Lebanese Jaafari Mufti, issued a statement addressing concerned authorities. He stressed that resistance is Lebanon’s historic shield, ensuring the country’s strength and legitimacy to liberate its land and serving as a strong sovereign partner alongside the army.
Qablan warned that eliminating resistance would solely benefit Israel. He stated, “Political games become unacceptable when they amount to sovereign suicide.”
He further cautioned that any misstep regarding resistance would place Lebanon at the heart of destruction.
The mufti emphasized that Lebanese sovereignty is not for sale. The national mandate granted to the government holds legitimacy only if it aligns with national and sovereign interests; otherwise, any government violating sovereignty or the national charter loses its legitimacy.
The Grand Jaafari Mufti warned against political adventurism concerning Lebanon’s fate, affirming: “We will not accept any form of political or sovereign suicide.”
He added that the army and resistance constitute a single national force. any attempt to create division between them serves exclusively Zionist interests.
Qablan stressed that the Lebanese army will operate solely within its national role and sovereign partnership framework, never falling into Zionist traps.
Concluding his remarks on Lebanon’s reality and capabilities, Qablan affirmed: “The equation ‘no army without resistance and no resistance without army’ is decisive.No benefit exists for Lebanon beyond this partnership. Our country’s interests go beyond administrative sessions or negotiated plans.”
