68 Killed in Gaza Within 24 Hours; 92% of Gaza’s Children Suffer from Hunger
The Gaza Ministry of Health announced in a statement that two deaths due to hunger and malnutrition were recorded within the past 24 hours, bringing the total fatalities from malnutrition to 422, including 145 children.
As the united Nations declared famine in Gaza, there have been 144 deaths reported, among them 30 children.
Hospital sources in Gaza Strip reported that since dawn today, Sunday, 41 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli army attacks.Of these, 28 were killed in Gaza City.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health also stated in its daily report that within the last 24 hours, a total of 68 fatalities and 346 additional injured people were admitted to hospitals.
Among these victims, ten died during incidents related to receiving food aid.This raises the total number of deaths from such incidents to 2,494 with more than 18,135 injured.
The report added that several victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded on streets where rescue and civil defense teams have not yet been able to reach them.
Since israeli attacks on Gaza began on October 7th until now, overall fatalities have reached 64,871, with injuries totaling 164,610 across the Gaza Strip.
United Nations statistics indicate that over 92% of children aged six to twenty-three months as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women suffer from insufficient dietary diversity to meet their nutritional needs.
Approximately 290,000 children under five years old and 150,000 pregnant or breastfeeding women require nutrition support and micronutrient supplements.
An estimated more than 60,000 children alongside 16,000 pregnant or nursing women will need treatment for acute malnutrition this year.
