Sweden: Gaza Attack Highlights Urgency to End Trade Cooperation with Israel

Sweden’s Foreign Minister emphasized that the attack on Gaza highlights the‌ importance of pressuring Israel ⁢and maintaining the suspension of commercial⁤ cooperation with it.

According to the ​English⁤ section of webangah​ news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and‌ Al Jazeera, Sweden’s Foreign Minister​ maria Malmer ‌Stenergard said on Tuesday that the escalating military assault ‌on Gaza ⁤is‌ worsening ⁤an ‍already catastrophic humanitarian situation.

The‌ Swedish ​foreign ⁤minister ​added that ⁤the attack on Gaza city has caused widespread forced displacement of civilians, violating international law. She‌ stressed that ⁣this assault underscores ​the need to ​increase pressure on Israel and continue suspending​ economic cooperation with⁤ it.

Benjamin⁣ Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel, previously announced plans‍ for ⁢a ground offensive in Gaza city. The Israeli newspaper ‍Yedioth‍ ahronoth reported ‌that this operation will be gradual and⁤ phased, confirming that military actions had begun in the ⁤outskirts where Israeli forces have intensified attacks recently and destroyed buildings.

Al Mayadeen described official⁣ announcements ⁢of a⁤ ground offensive as‍ media deception. It noted that assaults ⁤actually began ⁢weeks ago with incursions⁤ into Al-Sabra‌ and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods. the‍ occupying ‍forces devastated these areas before retreating their troops.

Following these withdrawals,​ Israeli⁢ forces ⁤moved into Jabalia and Al-Nazlah ‌before evacuating al-Saftawi. ⁤Currently, operations‌ by ⁣Israeli troops continue in⁢ Sheikh ‍Radwan and Abu Iskandar neighborhoods.
