Iran Destroyed Half a Billion Dollars Worth of Advanced U.S. Missiles
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Israel’s Times of Israel, reports that newly released Pentagon budget documents, also referenced by multiple American media outlets, reveal that the U.S. fired interceptor missiles valued at about $500 million in total for Israel during the ongoing war-primarily throughout the 12-day Israeli offensive against Iran in June.
According to this Israeli source citing The War Zone and Business Insider, one document requests an emergency budget of $498.265 million to replace an unspecified number of Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptor missiles “expended in support of Israel.”
Reports indicate that between 100 and 150 THAAD missiles were launched by the U.S. during Israel’s 12-day attack on Iran.
Additional funding requests to replenish these interceptors require approval from the U.S. Congress.
