Macron: France to Recognize Palestinian Government on Monday

France announces timing for recognition ‍of autonomous Palestinian state.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency ⁢and Al ​Jazeera Qatar,⁤ French President Emmanuel​ Macron stated,⁤ “I have once‌ again informed ⁤Mahmoud ⁣abbas that France will recognize the Palestinian⁢ state on Monday in New York.”

Macron emphasized ⁢that recognizing the State of​ Palestine is “part of‌ a comprehensive regional peace plan” aimed at meeting the security and peace demands of​ both Israelis and ‍Palestinians.

The French president also said‌ Abbas is committed once⁢ again to implementing ‌necessary reforms‍ to modernize Palestine’s governance structure and address challenges related to establishing stability in⁤ the future Palestinian‍ state.

Macron added, “We will⁢ continue supporting Palestinian institutions and ensure‍ we uphold our commitments to maintaining security and stability in the region.”

The French Presidency issued a statement warning that “annexation of the West Bank is a clear red⁤ line.”

Agence France-Presse reported from the Élysée ⁢Palace that 10 countries, including France, are expected to recognize the ⁤Palestinian government during a conference in New York on Monday.
