QSD: Damascus-Linked Groups Committed Massacre of Civilians in Central Syria
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Mayadeen network, reported that local networks linked to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) claimed armed groups loyal to the Damascus regime and supported by Turkey attacked the village of Um Tina near Deir Hafir, east of Aleppo province,in central Syria on saturday. They accused these groups of killing civilians during the assault.
The SDF described this act as a “massacre of civilians” and held Damascus responsible for the consequences of this attack.
This development comes one day after Abu Muhammad al-Julani, leader of the ruling faction in Syria, warned that failure to integrate the SDF into the Syrian army before year-end woudl have severe repercussions.
In March 2024, Al-Julani signed an agreement with Mazloum Abdi, commander-in-chief of the SDF, outlining plans to incorporate SDF forces into Syrian government military and institutions. Under this deal, territories controlled by the SDF would come under supervision aligned with Syria’s designations regarding terrorism. Though, implementation has stalled due to critically important disagreements between both parties.
these escalating disputes have also halted prisoner exchange processes between them.
