South Africa Urges All Countries to Recognize Palestine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and qatar’s Al Jazeera network, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, whose country leads efforts to hold Israel accountable in international courts, urged all United Nations member states on Monday night at a bilateral conference in New York to recognize the State of Palestine.
welcoming the establishment of Palestine within the 1967 borders, Ramaphosa also condemned the attacks that took place on October 7.
He emphasized that a two-state solution remains the only way to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“We demand an immediate ceasefire, an end to genocide in Gaza, and the release of prisoners,” Ramaphosa added.
the president further stated that all obstacles hindering a two-state resolution-including the separation barrier-must be removed.
Ramaphosa stressed: “The israeli-Palestinian conflict must end immediately. We must work together toward achieving a just and lasting solution.”
