Guterres: International Court of Justice Rulings on Gaza Must Be Enforced

The UN Secretary-General declared in his speech at ⁢the 80th General Assembly: The International Court of ⁤Justice’s rulings ‌on Gaza must⁢ be enforced.

According to the English section of ⁢ webangah⁣ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the United Nations website, antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, ⁣opened⁤ his speech at the 80th session of the General Assembly as its first speaker.

the ⁤Secretary-General addressed the ongoing crimes committed by jerusalem’s occupiers in Gaza and ‍stated⁤ that the orders ‍from the⁣ International Court ⁢of Justice must be implemented. He ⁢emphasized that the Security Council must fulfill its responsibilities ⁢regarding these conflicts and called ‍for an⁢ end to⁢ extralegal immunities.

Guterres continued: “The⁢ world chose the United Nations to promote cooperation ⁢rather of chaos and peace rather than conflict. ‍The UN is a moral compass and a force for maintaining peace⁤ and ‌upholding ⁣international law. Eighty years‍ after its founding, we face crises reminiscent of those ⁢at its inception. The pillars of peace and ⁣progress are collapsing under impunity;⁢ starvation is being ⁤used as a weapon; independent nations are under attack. The world is moving toward multipolarity, which is positive, but institutions must ⁢exist to prevent ⁢this shift from descending into chaos.”

He added: “No ⁤country can address today’s challenges to ‍international order alone. International law is essential, and justice with human⁣ rights promotion are imperative. We ⁢need to choose peace over savage wars already underway. Some act as‌ if international laws do⁣ not apply to ⁢them; impunity fuels‌ disorder. Let’s choose a global‌ economy‌ that benefits ‌everyone. Let’s respect human ⁢rights for all humanity.”

“There is no ⁣military solution in Sudan-the external ⁣support must stop-and efforts should focus ‌on protecting civilians,” he said.

“The⁢ horror in Gaza approaches its third year as decisions made challenge ⁣humanity’s core principles. A famine has‍ been declared there-International ⁢Court of Justice rulings⁤ must be ‌fully enforced instantly.” He stressed that nothing justifies collective⁤ punishment or systematic‍ destruction in‍ Gaza.

“The two-state solution remains the only viable path to ‌lasting peace in the Middle East,” he underscored.

“There are numerous⁣ global crises today characterized by ‌widespread impunity,” Guterres‌ warned, urging greater representation and effectiveness within the Security Council while confronting ‍injustice and⁣ inequality worldwide.

“True security‌ springs from⁣ justice; human rights form peace’s foundation.”

“We must combat racism and intolerance in all their forms.”

“Human rights require daily struggle supported by political will.”

“Sustainable Progress Goals depend ‍on‌ adequate financing-cuts harm millions.”

“The international financial system needs reform so ⁢it serves everyone.”

The Secretary-General concluded: “technology should ⁤serve humanity-not halt progress-but always uphold human ‌dignity and⁣ rights. No one should stand above the law.”
