Baerbock: People Are Ingesting Dust and Drinking Contaminated Water

The⁣ President of the United Nations General Assembly, Annalena ⁣Baerbock, declared ⁣at‌ the 80th session that people are ​forced to consume ⁣sand and dust while drinking polluted‍ water. The world is engulfed‌ in pain and suffering.

She added that ⁤thousands of ​orphaned ⁢children in Gaza⁣ wander among rubble, eating sand ⁢and drinking contaminated water. Facing tragedies⁤ impacting women in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rohingya children, and‌ others,⁤ we cannot celebrate. We must question the role of the United Nations.

Baerbock further urged support to end apartheid. The‌ UN was founded for humanity and equality. In confronting atrocities against women in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rohingya children, and others, celebration is unachievable. The role of the UN must be critically examined.
