Colombian President Demands Trial for Trump and U.S. Officials
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Russia Today, Gustavo Petro, the President of Colombia, called at the 80th United nations General Assembly for the trial of Donald Trump and U.S. officials over their targeting of drug trafficking boats in the Caribbean Sea.
He stated that the United States imposes a violent and failed war on drugs in Latin America, while major traffickers live openly in New York and Miami.
The Colombian president also noted that Colombia has seized unprecedented quantities of cocaine and extradited 700 major drug traffickers to the United States and Europe.
Petro’s remarks came after U.S. forces claimed to have struck drug trafficking boats near Venezuela on three separate occasions, resulting in several trafficker deaths.
