Zelensky: I Was Surprised by Trump’s Remarks
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told Fox News that he was surprised by remarks made by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, after meeting Zelensky on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings, Trump said it is possible for Ukraine to restore its status to what it was before the 2022 war began.
Trump added: “After reviewing and understanding Ukraine’s and Russia’s military and economic situations, I believe that with support from the European Union, Ukraine can continue fighting, return to its pre-war conditions, and reclaim its territory from russia.”
This contrasts with Zelensky’s statement at the end of August when he said that Ukraine would never be able to regain its territory through military means alone.
