Hamas Praises Spain’s Arms Embargo on the Zionist Regime
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued a statement welcoming Spain’s decision to enact a total ban on supplying weapons to the criminal Zionist occupiers. According to webangah News Agency, citing palestinian Shehab News Agency via Mehr News Agency, Hamas described this step as a demonstration of Spain’s moral and political commitment in response to the atrocities facing the people of Gaza Strip.
Hamas called this move an crucial measure to pressure Benjamin Netanyahu-whom they labeled as a war criminal-to stop genocide and ethnic cleansing. The movement reiterated its call for all countries to impose extensive sanctions on Israel,isolating it legally,politically,and economically. They urged global efforts to freeze all interactions with Israel across all sectors to halt ongoing crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing.
The statement added that supporting these measures is also backing justice for the Palestinian cause and upholding the nation’s right to self-determination through establishing an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Yesterday, Spain’s government announced that its Council of Ministers had approved urgent and meaningful decisions aimed at ending the genocide in Gaza.
Carlos Querubía, spain’s Minister of Economy, emphasized that his government would intensify political and economic pressures on Israel. The aim is forcing Israel to respect human rights standards, comply with international law, and achieve peace.
Among key decisions enacted are a total ban on arms exports from Spain to Israel along with prohibiting weapon imports from Israel. Additionally, transit of fuel destined for Israeli military objectives through Spanish territory has been forbidden.
Spain also banned imports of products manufactured in Israeli settlements or occupied territories under its latest measures.
