Russia: Construction of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant Reactors Two and Three Continues
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al Mayadeen, the director general of Rosatom confirmed that work on the second and third reactors at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant will proceed.
This announcement comes after Rosatom previously emphasized that Tehran and Moscow signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on constructing small nuclear power plants in Iran.
The memorandum was signed on Wednesday following a meeting in Moscow between Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Association, and Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom.
During their meeting, they discussed progress on current projects and also promising prospects for cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy activities.
The agreement aims to expand collaboration in peaceful uses of atomic energy for promoting sustainable development, energy security, and technological advancement. It is aligned with both countries’ national laws and international commitments.
