US Treasury Secretary Issues Latest Anti-Iran Stance
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent once again reiterated his country’s antagonistic stance against Tehran on Sunday.
Refusing to acknowledge the peaceful intent of Iran’s nuclear program or Israel’s unregulated nuclear stockpile in the region, Bessent alleged on the social media platform X that Iran’s nuclear program poses a threat to “our peace and prosperity.”
Amid indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington, Bessent ignored recent American and Israeli aggressions against Iran.He claimed: “The U.S. president has provided Tehran with every opportunity to reach an agreement, yet they remain indifferent.”
The U.S. official continued baseless accusations without addressing widespread acknowledgment among global officials and experts regarding the failure of punitive sanctions against Tehran: “United Nations member states are obliged to implement and enforce sanctions promptly!”
