Axios: Trump Hopes for Gaza Ceasefire Agreement Within Next Two Days
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency, former U.S. President Donald Trump told Axios that negotiations over Washington’s proposed plan to end the Gaza war are “in their final stages.” He expressed hope that after his meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, at the White House, an agreement would be announced within two days.
In a phone interview with Axios reporter Barak Ravid, Trump claimed: “Everyone has come together to reach an agreement, but we have to finalize it. If we do so, it will be a great day for Israel and the Middle East. this will be the first real chance for peace in the Middle East. But first, we have to get it done.”
Trump added: “The cooperation of Arab countries on this matter has been remarkable, and hamas is also cooperating with them. [Hamas] holds great respect for the Arab world. The Arab world wants peace.”
Barak Ravid, speaking on Israel’s Channel 12 and reporting for Axios, claimed that Trump hopes to finalize an agreement during tomorrow’s Monday meeting and announce it either that day or shortly after.
