Trump Considers Dangerous Decision on Ukraine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Russia Today, JD Vance, the US Vice President under Donald Trump, stated that the United States is reviewing supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.
Earlier, several Western media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal and The Telegraph, reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky specifically requested this type of weapon during a meeting with Trump on the sidelines of the united Nations General Assembly in New York last week.
The Wall Street Journal noted that Trump did not oppose the proposal and even welcomed lifting restrictions on Kyiv’s use of US-made weapons for strikes deep inside Russian territory.Though, no commitments were made during that meeting. axios reported that Trump had previously opposed supplying these missiles to Ukraine.
When asked whether Washington is considering selling these missiles to other NATO members who could then provide them to Kyiv, Vance replied: “We are definitely exploring this possibility.”
Under pressure from a Fox News host about potential escalation if such a decision is made by the US, Vance said, “Trump will ultimately set Washington’s policy.”
Keith Kellogg, Trump’s special envoy who spoke with Fox News yesterday as well, confirmed Zelensky requested Tomahawks but added that “the final decision has not yet been made.”
The missile’s range is estimated at up to 2,500 kilometers and it can be equipped with a nuclear warhead. Moscow has previously warned repeatedly about Western arms supplies to Kyiv. it emphasized that such actions will not change the ultimate outcome of the war but will only prolong and escalate tensions while increasing the risk of direct confrontation between Russia and NATO.
