Japan’s Latest Measures Against Iran
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Nippon, the Japanese government announced on Monday that it has resumed sanctions against Iran following the reimposition of United Nations sanctions over Tehran’s peaceful nuclear program.
Tokyo claimed it has frozen assets belonging to 78 organizations and 43 individuals based on a UN Security Council resolution.
Yoshimasa Hayashi,Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary,emphasized in a press conference the importance of reaching a diplomatic solution. He said, “This issue is now at a crossroads.We must not miss opportunities for dialog.”
The Chief Cabinet Secretary reiterated that Tokyo’s position-calling for resolving the matter through talks-remains unchanged.
He added, “While complying with Security Council decisions, we will continue necessary diplomatic efforts.”
