According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Philippine officials announced that the death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck central parts of the country yesterday has risen to 26.At least 147 people have been injured in the incident.
Rescue teams say search and recovery operations continue in affected areas,wiht authorities warning that casualties may increase.
The strong 6.9-magnitude earthquake hit the Philippines on Tuesday, with its moast severe tremors felt on Cebu Island.
