Philippines Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 60

According to⁤ the english section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, the number of⁤ fatalities from the deadly earthquake in the philippines has increased to at least 60.

The philippine GMA TV network, quoting the country’s⁣ Civil Defense Authority, reported ⁢this‌ update.

Bernardo Alejandro, Deputy Secretary-General​ of the⁣ agency, ‍said: “There are​ reports of a⁢ rising death toll. We ​have received information about approximately 60 confirmed deaths.”

Earlier today, Al Jazeera had ​reported 26 deaths and at least 147 injured.

A powerful ‍magnitude-6.9 earthquake struck the Philippines on‌ Tuesday, with it’s strongest tremors ‍felt ​on Cebu Island.
