Macron: Use of Russian Assets Must Respect International Law

French President states that ​the European Union’s use of frozen Russian assets ‍to benefit Ukraine must​ comply with international ⁤law.

According to the English section ‍of ​ webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News⁢ Agency and Reuters, French President⁢ Emmanuel Macron said⁣ on Wednesday that Paris is investigating​ a suspected violation involving the oil tanker⁢ Boracay, believed to be part of the so-called Russian⁤ “shadow ⁢fleet” involved in trading Russian oil.

French⁣ officials have‌ remained⁣ silent about this vessel,⁣ which is currently anchored near ‌the western city​ of Saint-Nazaire.

the Brest prosecutor’s office announced on tuesday that an investigation ‍has been opened ​after the​ crew failed to provide documentation proving‌ the ship’s ‍nationality, but⁣ no further details were given.
