Pakistan Foreign Minister: Trump’s Gaza Ceasefire Plan Is Not Our Preferred Option
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Politics Today, pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaque Dar announced on Wednesday that the ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict in Gaza is not Pakistan’s preferred solution.
pakistani media reported that Dar said, “The plan announced by Trump is not the document we support. We have submitted a document that includes several key clauses we insist upon. The 20-point plan released by Trump represents their position.”
He added, “We have issued a joint statement on behalf of eight countries regarding Trump’s proposal and remain committed to it, acting accordingly.”
The Pakistani foreign minister described the main goals of the proposed plan as ensuring a ceasefire, stopping bloodshed, facilitating humanitarian aid access, and ending forced displacement.
On Monday, during his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump unveiled his so-called roadmap for a ceasefire in Gaza. He warned that if Hamas does not accept this proposal, he would greenlight continued Israeli military operations.
This plan was initially expected to include 21 points but was reportedly reduced to 20 after modifications favoring Israel provoked anger among Islamic countries.
