Egyptian Foreign Minister: Our Goal Is Immediate Halt to Genocide in Gaza
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Al Arabiya via Mehr News Agency, Egyptian Foreign minister Badr Abdelatty emphasized that the Rafah crossing serves solely as a route for humanitarian assistance into Gaza.It is indeed not intended to facilitate the displacement of Palestinians.
He added, “Our goal is an immediate halt to genocide in Gaza, protection of civilians, and ensuring their safety. Mechanisms for a transitional administration after establishing a ceasefire in Gaza are under consideration. Governance of gaza will remain with Palestinians, without direct external interference in internal affairs.”
Addressing hamas, Abdelatty said its future will be decided by Palestinians themselves. The current focus is on forming a transitional committee to manage Gaza without Hamas’s involvement, guaranteeing essential services and regional stability. Cairo supports this transitional committee and afterward the Palestinian Authority in governing Gaza.
Reiterating that Palestinian displacement will not occur, he stressed: “The Rafah crossing on Egyptian-controlled territory exists solely to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza; it will not be used for relocating Palestinians.”
