According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu News Agency, spain’s prime Minister Pedro Sánchez called on Israeli occupiers today, wednesday, not to threaten the Freedom Flotilla heading to Gaza. He emphasized that the mission is humanitarian and its participants enjoy “full diplomatic protection.”
Before an informal meeting of European Union leaders in Copenhagen, Sánchez addressed growing concerns about the safety of the flotilla approaching Gaza amid a high risk of interception by Israeli occupation forces.
Sánchez told reporters: “We must remember this is a humanitarian mission that would not be necessary if Israel allowed UNRWA-the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees-to enter and distribute these humanitarian aid supplies.”
He added that Spain has deployed a navy vessel on standby for emergency assistance and is coordinating closely with other countries involved in this mission.
Sánchez stated: “From the first minute, I have made it clear to Israel that those compatriots on these fleets have full diplomatic protection because it cannot be any other way. they pose no danger or threat to Israel; therefore, I hope Tel Aviv refrains from threatening this flotilla.”
