Strategic Partnership Treaty Between Moscow and Tehran Takes Effect Today
Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty with the Islamic Republic of Iran comes into effect today (Thursday, September 31).
The English section of webangah News Agency quoted Mehr News Agency citing RIA novosti in reporting that Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement confirming the enforcement of the comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran starting today.
The ministry emphasized that this treaty reflects a strategic choice by senior political leaders in Russia and Iran to strengthen friendly relations and good neighborly cooperation comprehensively. It aims to secure the basic interests of both nations’ peoples.
The treaty was signed on January 17, 2025, during Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s visit to Russia, were he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
