French Lawyer: Israel’s Attack on Samoud Fleet Violates International Law
According to webangah News Agency’s English section, citing Mehr News Agency, Raphael Kempf, a prominent French lawyer, condemned Israel’s assault on the samoud fleet in an interview with Al Mayadeen. He urged France to join South Africa’s lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice.
Kempf addressed the detention of Samoud activists in the occupied territories. “We have no details about detained French nationals in Israel or their prison locations,” he stated.
The French lawyer added that itamar Ben-Gvir’s presence among detainees from various countries is illegal.
Raphael Kempf reiterated that Israel’s treatment of the Samoud fleet constitutes a breach of international law.
Itamar Ben-gvir, Israel’s far-right Minister of National Security, visited Ketziot detention center in the Negev Desert on friday. Dozens of international activists from the Samoud fleet are held there following an Israeli military attack on their ships in international waters.
During his visit, Ben-Gvir attacked these international activists verbally, labeling them “terrorists.”
The Israeli Navy intercepted vessels from the Samoud fleet overnight as they sought to break Gaza’s blockade and deliver medical and food aid. Hundreds of activists, journalists, and doctors from multiple countries were arrested during this operation.
