Erdogan and Trump Discuss Gaza Ceasefire in Phone Call
The Turkish Presidency announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss bilateral relations and the situation in Gaza, according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera.
During the call,Erdoğan expressed Turkey’s support for peace initiatives but stressed that for these efforts to succeed,the Israeli regime must halt its attacks on Gaza.
The Turkish Presidential statement said Erdoğan assured Trump that Turkey would accelerate its diplomatic contacts aimed at establishing peace in the region.
Earlier, Donald Trump issued a stark warning claiming that Hamas had until Sunday afternoon Washington time to agree to a 20-point ceasefire plan. Failing this, he threatened an unprecedented level of destruction against Hamas in Gaza.
