Israel’s Plan to Maintain Control Over Three Strategic Gaza Sites
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and al Arabiya, Israeli media sources admitted that Israeli forces intend to remain in three strategic locations within and near the Gaza Strip for an extended period.
The report highlights that this move will continue even after the implementation of the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas and a gradual Israeli withdrawal from Gaza under the Trump administration’s plan.
These sources added that Israeli officials communicated to the United states their army’s intention to stay in the buffer zone inside Gaza’s border, in the Philadelphia corridor near Egypt’s shared borders, and at Hill 70.
Hill 70, also known as Talat al-Muntar, is located east of Al-Shujaiya neighborhood in eastern Gaza City. It stands 70 meters above sea level and offers complete oversight over extensive northern areas of Gaza, including Gaza City itself and Jabalia.
Israeli media emphasized that these positions are crucial for Tel aviv because they provide vital tactical advantages on the ground.
