Trump Escalates Rhetoric Against Iran, Claims U.S. Strikes Near Strait of Hormuz

According to the International Desk of Webangah News Agency, President Donald Trump on Tuesday reiterated his strong opposition to Iran via his social media platform, Truth Social. The U.S. President claimed that American forces are currently launching major and powerful attacks on Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. These actions, he alleged, are in retaliation for an unsuccessful Iranian attempt to deploy naval mines in the strait, which he stated are now clear, and for the firing of eight missiles by Iran that were reportedly intercepted over a Jordanian military base.

Trump, seemingly disregarding potential concerns from U.S. military personnel regarding retaliation from Iran’s navy, declared that any significant Iranian response to these “highly justified” strikes would result in even more severe and escalated attacks. He further warned that the anticipated future assault would be the most substantial yet, suggesting that “little will remain of the Islamic Republic of Iran” once it concludes.

Earlier, the U.S. military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via the social media platform X that U.S. forces had initiated strikes against targets belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran at 12:00 PM Eastern Time.
