Joint Arab-Islamic States Issue Statement on Hamas’s Response to Trump Plan
The foreign ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Turkey issued a joint statement expressing support for Hamas’s reaction to the Trump plan.The declaration was reported by webangah News Agency’s English section citing Al Jazeera.
The statement added that they also welcome President trump’s call to halt Israeli attacks on Gaza and initiate the process of implementing a prisoner exchange agreement. These developments represent a genuine possibility for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza. They praised Hamas’s readiness to transfer management of the Gaza Strip to a Palestinian committee.
The ministers emphasized the urgent need to begin negotiations aimed at agreeing upon mechanisms for implementing the Trump plan. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting efforts that woudl end the war in Gaza instantly and ensure unconditional aid delivery into the strip.
The declaration rejected any displacement of the Palestinian people and supported securing prisoner releases along with restoring governance by the Palestinian Authority in Gaza.It affirmed backing for unifying the West Bank and Gaza Strip under one governance, establishing security guarantees for all parties involved, full Israeli withdrawal alongside reconstruction efforts in Gaza, and achieving peace based on a two-state solution.
