Hegset: I Have Received Authorization to Attack Ships off Venezuela’s Coast
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters,U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that all necessary authorizations have been obtained for U.S. military strikes against ships near Venezuela’s coastline.
Last Thursday, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino reported the approach of at least five american warplanes toward the country’s coastal line.
In a televised address, Padrino said that air defense and tracking systems at Venezuela’s largest airport detected over five warplanes attempting to approach the shore.
The defense minister condemned the incident as a “major threat.”
President Nicolás Maduro recently declared a state of emergency in response to what caracas describes as escalating antagonistic actions by the United States against Venezuela.
Earlier on Monday,Vice President Delcy Rodríguez stated that Maduro had signed an order granting him authority to take defensive and national security measures in case of any potential U.S. attack on “our homeland.”
