Heavy Damage to Russian Energy Facilities in Ukrainian Attack; Power Outage Affects 40,000 People
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, a large-scale assault by Ukrainian armed forces on Russia’s Belgorod region and subsequent bombardment cut power for approximately 40,000 residents in the area.
Vyacheslav Gladkov, Governor of Belgorod, wrote on his Telegram channel that they received a report from energy experts regarding the extent of damage caused by last night’s shelling in Belgorod.
He noted that power facilities across seven districts sustained heavy damage and confirmed that about 40,000 people remained without electricity as of today.
Gladkov added that emergency technical teams are taking all necesary measures to restore electricity in the region by tomorrow at the latest.
