Red Cross Sounds Alarm on Gaza as Winter Approaches
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Hisham Mahna, spokesperson for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza Strip, told Al Jazeera that as winter nears, the demand for essential shelter equipment grows. He emphasized the urgent need to ease civilian access to these supplies.
He added that they have been forced to temporarily suspend activities at the Red Cross office in Gaza city due to a complete lack of necesary aid for survival within Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, a network of Palestinian NGOs in Gaza has warned about worsening hardships faced by displaced persons living in tents due to approaching winter rains.
The organization’s official statement criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan for neglecting humanitarian aid distribution points run by aid institutions in Gaza. these sites have turned into lethal traps and exacerbated residents’ suffering. The statement called for halting operations at these institutions and holding responsible officials accountable following fatalities among Palestinians awaiting aid.
It further stressed that Israeli occupiers are deliberately implementing engineered starvation and planned policies aimed at weakening residents and controlling their daily lives.
