Smotrich: October 7 Operation Came at a Heavy Cost to Israel
Betsalel Smotrich, Israel’s finance Minister, acknowledged that the October 7 Hamas operation against Israel exacted a heavy and painful toll. Speaking to webangah News Agency citing Al jazeera via Mehr News Agency, he saeid an inquiry is necessary and those responsible must be held accountable.
He added, “The war is not over. There are those who urge us to retreat and threaten us.”
Smotrich described facing a critical choice: “Will we surrender to our enemies in Gaza and allow them to remain at our borders, preparing for their next attack?”
“Or will Israel once again enter into diplomatic agreements that are worthless on paper and rely on flimsy guarantees?” he questioned.
The finance minister also stressed, “I will not allow our cabinet to collapse or let two years of extensive public mobilization go to waste.”
