11 Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Clash with Militants
According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, the Pakistani army announced that 11 of its soldiers were killed during clashes with militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan.
The Pakistani military stated that security forces engaged militants last night during an intelligence operation in the Orakzai district near the Afghan border.In the operation, nine militants were also killed.
Among those killed on the Pakistani side were a colonel and a lieutenant colonel. Last month, at least 12 Pakistani soldiers died during an exchange of fire with militants in South Waziristan.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks in recent years. Islamabad has accused Kabul of failing to prevent attacks carried out by the Tehrik-i-Taliban terrorist group.
Though,afghanistan has rejected these allegations,stressing that it does not allow its territory to be used for attacks against Pakistan.
