Federal Appeals Court Rules Against Trump
According to the English section of webangah News agency,citing NBC News,a federal appellate court ruling prevents President Donald Trump’s administration from sending National Guard forces to Illinois.
The Seventh Circuit Court of appeals in Chicago also stated that the National Guard troops can remain under federal control for now.
This decision upholds a lower court ruling that blocked the deployment of National Guard units to the Chicago area, warning such actions could incite unrest and worsen conditions.
Earlier, Trump had deployed National Guard forces to several Democratic-led cities-including Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Portland, oregon-citing crime-fighting efforts as justification.
Local officials have accused him of exceeding his legal authority and have filed lawsuits against him.
