Flood in Mexico Leaves 42 Dead and 27 Missing
According to a report by Mehr’s correspondent quoting Anadolu News Agency, Mexico’s National Civil Protection Coordinator (CNPC) announced that heavy rains in the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí triggered floods resulting in 42 deaths and 27 missing persons.
Rescue operations to find the missing individuals are ongoing.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo held an online meeting with governors of the five most affected states. She stated: “There will be no shortage of aid.” Government teams and officials have been deployed on site to clear roads and provide assistance to residents.
Mexican media reports this as the worst flooding disaster in recent years, leaving thousands without power across the impacted states.
