Turkey Plans Military Operation in Northern Syria Backed by Julani
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Al Jazeera quoted Bloomberg as reporting that Turkish officials have announced plans to supply military equipment to Syria and reach an agreement allowing strikes against Kurdish militias.
The American outlet, quoting Turkish officials, stated that the plan involves rapidly providing armored vehicles, drones, artillery, missiles, and air defense systems to Syria within weeks.
These military assets will be deployed in northern Syria to avoid escalating tensions with Israel along the southern border.
Bloomberg reported that ankara and Damascus have discussed expanding an existing agreement enabling Turkey to target Kurdish militias near its border.
Turkey intends to extend the permitted operational range under this deal from 5 kilometers up to 30 kilometers inside Syrian territory.
This arrangement could become a new point of tension between Turkey and the United States. For years, Washington has strengthened its presence in Syrian Kurdish areas by supporting these militias.
