Hamas Leader: Hamas Has Not Violated Ceasefire and Our Weapons Are Legal
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official, said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen last night that Israel threatens through “violence and brutality,” which is unsurprising behavior from the occupiers.
He stressed that Hamas remains committed to the agreements while Tel Aviv violates them daily.
Hamad added that Israel has failed to achieve its goals in Gaza Strip, prompting it to adopt a brutal mindset.
addressing the complex issue of prisoner body exchanges-which require time-he explained that Tel Aviv’s changing face of Gaza complicates this process. Hamad affirmed that Hamas will deliver the bodies as promised and described current developments as an attempt by Israel to pressure the movement.
The Hamas leader condemned Israel’s pressure tactics regarding prisoner exchanges as unacceptable. He noted mediators have been informed and understand Hamas’s position on this matter.
He also referenced Israeli violations of agreements, saying: “We have documented 28 civilian martyrs caused by occupier gunfire along with numerous other breaches as the agreement took effect.”
Hamad reported additional ceasefire violations including Israeli tanks crossing into Gaza’s yellow line buffer zone.
Emphasizing Hamas’s adherence to Trump’s plan and completion of its initial phase, he stated Hamas will pursue efforts in two directions: “preserving identity and reconstruction,” stressing reconstruction must not come at the expense of Palestinian identity.
The senior official reiterated that weapons held by Hamas are legal national arms used exclusively against occupiers.
Regarding Gaza’s future,Hamad declared: “We share a complete vision that those who should govern Gaza are Palestinians.” He underscored that Hamas opposes any committee under international trusteeship.
