Indonesia Denies Visas to Zionist Gymnasts
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Turkey’s Anadolu Agency, the Indonesian government announced it will not grant visas to six Israeli athletes scheduled to compete in the 2025 Gymnastics World Championships in Jakarta.
Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Indonesia’s Coordinating minister for Legal, Immigration and Reform Affairs, confirmed that these athletes will not participate in the event set for October 19-25 next year.
He emphasized that Indonesia will maintain no diplomatic relations with Israel until Palestine is fully liberated.
Following this decision, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) also rejected Israel’s appeal challenging Indonesia’s visa denial for the athletes.
the court statement noted that the Israeli Gymnastics Federation had requested either revoking Indonesia’s decision, relocating the competition abroad, or canceling it entirely. However, CAS dismissed these demands and upheld Indonesia’s position denying entry to Israeli competitors.
