Gaza Rescue Spokesperson: Bodies of 10,000 Martyrs Still Under the Rubble
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Shehab News Agency, mahmoud Bassel, spokesperson for the Rescue and Relief Organization in Gaza, stated that around 10,000 martyrs are still trapped beneath the rubble of destroyed houses across the region.
He emphasized that recovering bodies from under the debris is an extremely complex and difficult task. It requires immediate cooperation from international organizations and specialized rescue equipment. The extraction process demands heavy machinery and coordinated efforts among multiple parties; however, since the ceasefire was declared, there has been no change in thier field conditions or available resources.
Bassel noted that a long list containing the names of martyrs still under rubble is held by his organization. Many families in Gaza contact them daily to inquire about their missing loved ones.
The spokesperson added that over 4,000 martyrs remain buried specifically within Gaza City alone. This figure does not include areas such as Tal al-Hawa and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods where access is still unfeasible due to extensive destruction and landmine risks.
Bassel once again called for urgent international intervention and assistance from relief agencies to provide heavy equipment necessary for recovering these bodies. He stressed that silence in response to this humanitarian catastrophe only perpetuates crimes against the Palestinian people.
