Takayichi Becomes Japan’s First Female Prime Minister
Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party leader has been elected as the country’s first female prime minister.
According to the English section of webangah News Agency,citing Mehr News Agency adn The Washington Post,Japan’s parliament officially elected Sanae Takaichi as the nation’s first female prime minister following a formal vote.
The 64-year-old Takaichi,previously considered the leading candidate for the position,has now formally become the first woman in Japanese history to hold this office.
Former Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba resigned along with his cabinet ahead of today’s election.
