Ryabkov: The Process of Putin-Trump Meeting Is Complex
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Sputnik via Mehr News Agency, Sergey Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, said on Wednesday that Russia and the United States have not exchanged any notes regarding Ukraine in recent days. He added that numerous rumors circulating in Western media do not help the situation. Preparations for a Russia-US summit are ongoing.
Ryabkov further explained that Russia is focused on developing the substantive content for a meeting between Putin and Trump. He noted there is still no agreement regarding a meeting between Lavrov and Rubio. While he sees no significant barriers to a Putin-Trump encounter, he emphasized that the process is complex.
He also observed efforts aimed at reducing the chances of an agreement between Russia and the United States.
