Kremlin Warns of Severe Response to Any Attacks Deep Within Russian Territory
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al jazeera via Mehr News Agency, the Kremlin spokesperson warned that president Vladimir PutinS statement about a severe response applies not only to the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine but also to any attempt to strike deep inside Russian territory.
During a press briefing in Moscow, Dmitry Peskov added, “We will respond to new Western sanctions according to our national interests and are currently reviewing these sanctions.”
Regarding reports about the cancellation of a Putin-Trump meeting in Hungary, he said, “We deny claims about the Budapest summit’s cancellation as no date had been set initially. Like Trump, Putin does not rule out a future Russia-US meeting. Both sides do not want just any meeting for the sake of meeting; proper preparation is essential for it to be effective.”
Peskov also stated that Russia welcomes Japan’s desire to conclude a peace treaty with Moscow.
